So you've completed motorcycle school or just learned to ride a motorcycle. The next step is purchasing your first motorcycle. This can be a difficult task, as you have quite a few options and you are probably too new to understand what exactly you want out of a motorcycle. My general advice to new motorcycle riders is to not go overboard, although admittedly, this is easier said than done. I favor buying less expensive or used bikes at the start. After you have a solid year of riding under your belt, that may be the best time to dish out more money and get your dream bike. With that said, your starter bike is very important. You don't want to spend an arm and a leg on it, but it should be a decent enough bike that is easy to handle. Here are some bikes you might want to consider (in no specific order).
1. Honda CBR 500
The CBR 500R is no doubt an excellent starter bike. It's fun to ride and well-suited for just about anyone, not just beginners. It may not be the best bike for an absolute beginner, but anyone that has a bit of experience should greatly enjoy this bike. The engine has lots of power for a bike of this size and weight.
2. Suzuki DR 200
The newly designed DR 200 is the latest bike in the DR line. This series of bikes have been a well-known favorite in the world of dual sport bikes. Compared to earlier versions of the bike, the redesigned DR 200 has a more comfortable ride, thanks to its revised seat design. The 3.3 gallon gas tank is another upgrade tha will allow you to travel greater distances without having to refuel.
3. Yamaha SR 400
This is a favorite among beginners. The bike has a nicely designed, retro look that may not appeal to everyone, but should please a great many people who like the more old-fashioned designs. Despite having a kickstart, the engine is easy to start. This bike should make the shortlist for all beginners.
4. Suzuki V-Strom 650
The Suzuki V-Strom gets to be a bit on the expensive side, but you should still consider it because it has a terrific reputation. The bike can serve as both a street bike and a dirt bike, so it's a good choice for people who want the best of both worlds.
The appearance of the bike is a bit controversial. Some people find the look unappealing, but this of course is a matter of personal taste. The engine is similar to the one used by the Suzuki SV650, although it has some modifications that are designed to help the bike serve well both on the street and off the road. Overall, this bike is a great choice for beginners who want a versatile bike they can use for a long time.
5. Kawasaki Ninja 300
The Kawasaki Ninja has a bit more power when compared to the 250cc motorcycles that Kawasaki has had in the past. The Ninja 300 has better technology, a newer look, and a more powerful engine.
For those who want it, an ABS (anti-lock braking system) is available. This is always a good option if you can afford it, especially for beginners. The Kawasaki Ninja has a stellar transmission, and the shifting is fast and smooth. In terms of looks, the Ninja 300 bears resemblance to the older 500 and 1000 models. It is a popular look that is favored by many motorcyclists.
So which bike should you choose?
At the end of the day, the bike you choose is a personal choice and nobody can make it for you. That said, you want to pick the bike that is most well-suited for your purposes. You need to honestly answer two questions:
1. What is your level of experience?
Don't choose a bike that's too much for you to handle.
2. What do you want to use the bike for?
Will you use the bike for a commute, or just for fun? What conditions will you be riding in?
3. How much are you willing to spend?
In an ideal world, we'd all have all the money in the world to spend on our beginner bike. But most of us live in a world where we'll have to take a realistic look at what we can afford.
After answering these questions, you can then narrow down your choices and take it from there.
Many people turn to medication to deal with their acne problem. But because of the number of potential side effects, I always think it's preferable to try supplements first. The problem is that there is so much conflicting advice out there that it's difficult to know what works, and what doesn't.
Here are some acne-fighting supplements I've tried myself, and my results. You can purchase any of the supplements below at Pureformulas, for a discount.
Vitamin E - This vitamin is well-known for being good for your skin. You can either rub Vitamin E oil on your acne blemishes or scars to quicken healing. Another option is to take this vitamin orally. I have noticed some improvement from using Vitamin E, so you should definitely take them.
Vitamin D - Sometimes, acne can result from a Vitamin D deficiency. You can determine if you have a deficiency with a simple blood test. If you are low on Vitamin D, taking a supplement every day can quickly improve your skin and raise your Vitamin D levels.
Apple Cider Vinegar - I've heard that ACV can be diluted with water then used as a toner. I've found this to be effective in treating existing acne, but have not noticed that ACV does anything to prevent new breakouts.
Lemon Juice - This is one of the most effective treatments I've found to date. You can either rub diluted lemon juice on your acne-prone skin, or ingest two tablespoons daily. I like to mix it with juice and drink it every morning. You may be surprised at how effective this method is.
Zinc - Zinc can definitely be helpful in reducing acne, but you just need to be careful about taking too much, since the upper tolerable limit for zinc is relatively low.
Remember, everyone responds to supplements differently. For the best deals, make sure you buy your vitamins and supplements online from a discount vitamin outlet like Pureformulas.
If you've never used contact lenses before, you may feel a bit intimidated by the prospect of wearing them. This article should put your mind at ease. Contact lenses today are extremely safe, and any serious complications are statistically rare. Below is a general guide to how to get started with contact lenses, and how to get contact lenses inexpensively by using Lens.com coupons.
The first thing you need to do is get a contact lens prescription. At that time, the optemestrist will also recommend a brand of lenses for your eyes. So long as they are soft contact lenses, you can be relatively assured that they will be quite comfortable. Some popular brands include Acuvue and Air Optix. Other decisions you'll have to make is whether you want to wear disposable lenses (more expensive) or the kind that are wearable for 2-4 weeks.
The next step, buying your lenses, is where you should be careful. While it's convenient to buy lenses from your doctor, prices will be higher. The best thing to do is therefore get a copy of your prescription and order them online. Your optometrist will usually provide you with one pair of lenses to wear right away, so you'll be fine as long as you order your lenses within a couple days of your appointment. A good store for beginners to use is Lens.com. They carry all major brands and offer prices that are among the lowest I've seen. By using a Lens.com coupon, you can further increase your savings. To get the latest coupon for Lens.com, just go to http://lensstreet.com/lens-com.php.
If you're in a rush you can order your lenses a pay a bit extra for quicker delivery. In most cases, however, you should receive your lenses in about a week, even if you select standard shipping. It's a good idea to buy at least a few boxes so that you don't run out quickly. In addition, placing a large order may entitle you to extra discounts at some online vendors.
The last thing you'll need to know is how to care for your lenses. Contact lens care in the 21st century is quite straightforward, usually requiring just a case and contact lens solution. For tips on how to best care for your contact lenses, I recommend watching Youtube videos on the topic. The video below does a good job of covering the basic information you'll need to know.
As you've probably noticed, I like to talk about health, and today I'd like to extend that a bit and talk about safety as well.
Recently, there have been a couple stories in the news about e-cigarettes that have exploded on the user. Such explosions can be very dangerous, and as an e-cigarette user, it has made me concerned. Concerned enough, in fact, that I went online to do some research on this topic.
As it turns out, the majority of the exploding e-cigarette cases seem to be related to people who use mods. Mods are special devices that contain large batteries that allow for more flexibility in terms of power and usage. This can be adjusted by the user by the battery they choose, the coils, and wicks. Therefore, it is highly customizable. But all this customizability comes at a price: mods can also be more dangerous IF the user does not know what he/she is doing.
Together with mods, another issue related to exploding e-cigs is using the wrong charger for a device. This is why I try to buy all my e-cigs with starter kits, when the right charger is included with the device you are purchasing. This way, there can be no mistake where you use the wrong charger for your battery.
Aside from that, you should look make sure your e-cigarette does not overheat too much. Watch out for warning signs, and stop using a cigarette if you get it wet or something else happens to it to cause you to believe the battery may be damaged.
Aside from that, I do my best to buy from branded e-cig companies like White Cloud. I don't buy any e-cig where I don't know who the maker is, and furthermore, I don't buy if the e-cig is cheap, or the maker does not have a good reputation. I can trust a company like White Cloud since they have a company and brand standing behind the product, and when that is the case, the company usually goes to great lengths to ensure their products are safe, since the company reputation is on the line, after all. The one disadvantage is that branded e-cigs on the whole are more expensive. But if you use a White Cloud coupon code or other special discounts you can find online, then you can usually get a pretty good price on your order. I usually get my coupons from e-cigbargains.com, so you may want to check them out.
When possible, I try to buy devices made in the US. Unfortunately, it seems most products at the moment are manufactured in China. That is not necessarily a problem so long as you purchase from a well-respected corporation like Kanger.
I recently saw a statistic that showed that over 20% of people under 34 have tried online dating. The number falls the higher the age, and among people 60 and over, only 3% had tried online dating. At first, it may seem that older folks have something against dating online, but I beg to differ.
The fact is, older people are much more likely to have already found a significant other or be married. So it's natural that the people in a younger age group would be more likely to use an online dating site. And the fact that sites that target mature people, like Ourtime.com, have become quite popular.
I believe that online dating is a good idea for everyone, simply because it broadens your horizons. Think of the number of people you encounter throughout your daily life. It may be dozens or even hundreds, but compared to the number of people on a large dating site like Match.com, that is still a very small number.
But if you join Match.com, for instance, the number of people in your potential dating pool skyrockets. For a modest monthly membership rate (usually less than $20 if you pick a long-term plan), it's really a pretty great deal when you think about it. Of course, not everyone on the site will be what you are looking for. But that really doesn't matter, since you can use as many filters as you want when you search other members. Therefore, even if you join a very general dating site like Match.com, by using the filters, you can use it to narrow down the people you interact with, thereby creating your own custom dating experience.
People love to get things for free, and many of us have become accustomed to that given the Internet age we now live in. As expected, free dating sites abound, but I have yet to find one that has been decent. If free is what you want, I suggest that you get started on Match.com for free by using the 3-day free trial offer. Once you try out the site, I'm sure you'll agree with me that the monthly membership rate is reasonable given all you get in return. In a later article, I will discuss how to set up your profile to get the best results possible in online dating.
The video game exhibition called Game On was created to educate people about the history of video games. Currently, the exhibition is in Japan, where it is on display at The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation, also called Miraikan.
The exhibition emphasizes the cultural and social significance of games, and displays technologies going back to 1962. They also offer over 100 playable games to people who visit the exhibit.
Video games have long been controversial. For a long time, people claimed they cause children to be more violent. Others have seem less harm in them but looked upon them as something that simply wastes time.
Then, studies began to be released, and a good number of them showed that video games help people strategize better and can help development of certain brain areas. Today, it seems video games are less vilified, and widely accepted as a legitimate form of entertainment.
The size of the industry has grown significantly, and some people believe it will become the largest parts of the entertainment industry. Already, top video games have budgets that put a lot of blockbuster films to shame, costing hundreds of millions of dollars to develop. This can be a good thing in the sense that consumers can expect increasingly impressive games with terrific graphics and engaging 3D experiences. The downside, however, is that due to the high development costs, buying such games can be quite expensive for consumers.
One way around high video game costs is to rent them instead of buying them. The easiest way to do this is with a Gamefly membership. By using Gamefly, you can have video games sent directly to your mailbox, and you can rent up to two games at a time. The price starts at $14.95 a month, and it's possible to get a free trial from http://freetrialspot.com/gamefly.php at this time. The Gamefly free trial is good for 30 days, which is a lot longer than it used to be. The trial is a great way to check out how the program works. I know people who have used the Gamefly free trial then proceeded to become members for many years.
A while back, I wrote a post about brochure printing, which you can read here if you missed it. Today's article will go over how you can cut costs when doing your own printing.
Printer ink cartridges are expensive, often costing 30 dollars or more, depending on the printer you have. While using coupons and buying from discount ink stores like Inkfarm is one way to cut down costs, there is an even better way to save money on ink, which is by refilling empty cartridges with new ink.
I will admit that it sounds like a hassle, but the fact is, it’s not that difficult if you know what you’re doing. Fortunately, many stores sell ink refill kits, which contain everything you need to get started. It’s important to pick a kit that is compatible with the cartridge you want to refill, so that is something you should confirm before ordering. Typical contents include ink bottles and syringes. What are the syringes for? They are used to inject fresh ink into your empty cartridges.
If you can follow simple directions, you will be able to refill ink cartridges. There are also plenty of videos online that show you how the process works (see below). If you’re new at refilling ink, it wouldn’t hurt to check out some of the videos available to make sure you’re doing everything correctly.
I recommend Inkfarm for purchasing ink refill kits. If you refill a few cartridges on your own and decide it’s not something you like doing, you can always just buy cartridges that have been refilled for you. Such cartridges are called remanufactured cartridges, and you can get them at Inkfarm as well. (Don't forget to use Inkfarm coupons from http://inkjetprinterdiscounts.com/inkfarm.php to get the lowest price.)
You can of course find ink refill kits at local office supply stores as well. On the whole, however, the selection of kits is much more limited. That’s why I advocate finding a good online store and purchasing your kits from them instead.
Dating can be pricey, but not every date you go on has to be. To find a date without spending hours upon hours in bars and wasting hundreds of dollars on drinks, try online dating. A long-term subscription to a high-quality dating site such as eharmony can sometimes cost as little as $20 a month, if you use the right coupons and free trial offers. For example, you can try eharmony for free at sites such as Onlinedatingtrials.com.
As for the dates themselves, it’s possible to have a great time without having it cost a ton of money. Here are some ideas you can use:
1. Go to a second run theater.
How does $3 for a movie sound as opposed to $10? The fact is that many towns have several second run theaters where you can watch recently released movies at a fraction of the cost. Some theaters are a bit run down, but there are also many that give you an experience that rivals what you can get at a new multiplex.
2. Go on a picnic.
If you enjoy the outdoors, picnics can be very romantic. Location is everything, so consult local city guides and other resources to find the ideal spot.
3. Play a sport.
Any sport, such as tennis, kayaking, or hiking, can be turned into a perfect date. Playing sports with your significant other can also give you insights into their character, such as whether they’re competitive or how they handle loss. You want the person you date to be a good sport.
This is a great way to do something good for the community while also bonding with the person you’re interested in. And volunteering can often be quite fun as well, in addition to being a rewarding experience.
If you’re looking for a good dating site, I recommend eharmony, which I’ve talked about in other posts. Make sure you join for free first before paying for a subscription.
